ICE Watch App Now Available

A free public resource from the Digital Civil Rights Foundation helps communities report, review, and respond to ICE activity with clearer information, know-your-rights guidance, and community safety resources.

Los Angeles, CA, May 22, 2026. The Digital Civil Rights Foundation (DCRF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on civil liberties in the digital age, announced today the launch of the ICE Watch App, a free digital tool built to help communities navigate ICE activity reports with greater clarity and care.

The ICE Watch App is available now on Google Play. The App Store version is coming soon. Users can download the app here: Download ICE Watch on Google Play.

Reports of ICE presence can spread quickly through text chains, social media, and informal community networks. Many people share those reports with good intentions, but unverified information can also create confusion, fear, or unnecessary disruption.

The app gives communities a more reliable place to report what they are seeing, review reports with added context, and access practical guidance before taking action or sharing information further.

How the ICE Watch App Helps Communities

The app combines reporting, guidance, and support resources in one public-facing tool. Users can submit observations, review nearby reports, access hotline contacts, and find know-your-rights immigration resources designed to support individuals and families in real time.

ICE Watch was developed to help people act on clearer information rather than confusion, rumor, or fear. The app encourages users to focus on what they directly observed, including location, time, visible activity, and relevant context.

It also reminds users to avoid speculation. A report should help others understand what is happening without overstating, guessing, or spreading unverified claims.

“People are often forced to make decisions in moments of uncertainty,” said Ethan Glucroft, Founder and President of the Digital Civil Rights Foundation. “ICE Watch is designed to slow those moments down. The goal is not to amplify fear, but to help people share information in ways that are accurate, measured, and grounded in concern for community safety.”

Why ICE Activity Reports Need Context

In many communities, ICE activity reports move faster than reliable information. A post may describe a sighting, but leave out key details that help others understand whether the report is current, confirmed, or relevant to their area.

ICE Watch addresses that problem by organizing reports in a more responsible format. The app is built around the project’s core framework: See it, Report it, Share it.

That framework asks users to document carefully, report responsibly, and think about the impact of sharing information. The goal is not simply to circulate alerts. The goal is to support community awareness while reducing confusion and harm.

In practice, someone who hears about possible ICE activity can use ICE Watch to check for more organized information, review available context, and find guidance before deciding what to do next.

Accessing Know-Your-Rights Immigration Resources

The app also connects users with practical resources, including know-your-rights guidance, hotline contacts, and links to legal or community support organizations.

These resources can help people understand basic rights during an encounter with ICE, identify trusted support channels, and avoid relying only on scattered posts or private messages.

ICE Watch also includes guidance on digital responsibility. That includes reminders about privacy, responsible documentation, and the possible consequences of sharing sensitive information without context.

Developed by the Digital Civil Rights Foundation

ICE Watch is currently the primary project developed by the Digital Civil Rights Foundation. DCRF created the app to respond to the growing role technology plays in civic life, public perception, and community safety.

The organization’s work emphasizes restraint, transparency, and individual dignity, especially in situations where misinformation or heightened enforcement activity can affect families and communities.

“Keeping America’s promise alive for all requires tools that are careful, not reactive,” Glucroft added. “ICE Watch reflects an effort to approach a challenging issue with balance and responsibility.”

The ICE Watch App launches May 22, 2026, and is available now on Google Play. The App Store version is coming soon. Visit icewatchapp.org to learn more, access community safety resources, and download the ICE Watch App on Google Play.
